Markéta Ledererová (1915–1987) fled Prague in 1939 to escape the advancing Nazism in what was then Czechoslovakia and settled in the Netherlands, where she started a family during the war. She remained silent about her past and her unknown Jewish heritage, which prompted a daughter and two granddaughters to begin an investigation to find answers.
The award-winning documentary Full portrait of Markéta Ledererová wanted their quest unfolds, taking the viewer on a journey of discovery, loss, and gain.
