Hilde Hoekstra (@hoeksart) is an experienced artist who has been working with various printmaking techniques for years. Her great passion? Monoprinting with a gel plate. This technique has completely captivated her \u2013 and you'll understand why as soon as you try it yourself. What is a gel plate? A gel plate (also called a Gelli Plate) is a flexible printing plate made of silicone and gelatine. Sounds technical, but it's actually wonderfully accessible! You can easily work with acrylic paint, oil paint, or printing ink \u2013 and the possibilities are endless. Work in layers, play with shapes and textures, incorporate photos from magazines\u2026 Every print yields a unique result. No two prints are the same!<\/p>\n
