Pantograph Workshop: Distort, Copy, Transform with Ott Metusala Take a break from King’s day crowd and join us for a hands-on exploration of the pantograph, a tool that reshaped typography long before computers took over. Originally used to copy and scale designs with precision, the pantograph also allows for distortion, elongation, and skewing—turning replication into transformation. In this workshop, we’ll experiment with typographic forms, using the pantograph to create stretched, warped, and reimagined letters. The resulting works will be reproduced and layered through risograph printing, culminating in a small publication celebrating the tool’s impact on typography. Come trace, distort, and print your way into the history of mechanical lettering!
