Lecture and book presentation of Walter Schoonenberg about his book Amsterdam, nearly demolished. In this, Schoonenberg tells the story of the miraculous rescue and remarkable reconstruction of Amsterdam's city centre. Residents increasingly began to resist decay. campaigners and heritage conservationists formed an alliance and, through their actions, managed to turn the municipal plans 180 degrees.
