Underground cinema | Giants & Toys (1958)

Nishi, a manager at World Candy, finds a cute girl called Kyoko on the street with rotten teeth, bad clothes, and tadpoles for pets. He makes her his campaign model to sell sweets in a spacesuit. As she becomes more famous, Kyoko naturally develops a more independent streak. This film is a colourful satire on advertising, capitalism, and consumerism.
