kunstRUIM presents: Kunst MAAKT Amsterdam - Amsterdam MAAKT kunst Special opening on Monday 27 October, Amsterdam's birthday As part of Amsterdam 750, kunstRUIM is organising the exhibition Kunst MAAKT Amsterdam - Amsterdam MAAKT kunst. This exhibition offers a unique look at the role of artists in the city: how, despite increasingly scarce space, they continue to create and contribute to Amsterdam's culture. In this exhibition, 36 artists - members of kunstRUIM - display their work. Visitors can get inspired by photos, paintings, drawings, jewellery, wall and wooden objects and ceramics. It is not art about Amsterdam, but art of Amsterdam: work that originates, grows and flourishes here. A special feature is that during the exhibition, artists temporarily move their workshops to the gallery. Visitors can thus not only admire the works, but also experience the creative process itself. How is a wooden wall object created? How does an artist work with clay or paint? Where does their inspiration come from? The exhibition offers an inspiring insight into the many manifestations and working methods of contemporary Amsterdam art and artists. Festive opening 4 October from 4pm.
