The Wunderkammer is a contemporary wonder.
A group exhibition that balances on the border between art and mystery, nature and technology, recognition and alienation. In which dead animals are not spared, weapons take on a life of their own and in which existing objects in an unusual assemblage tell new stories.
Just as the 19th-century Cabinet of Curiosities had the ambition to be a reflection of the world, the works on display are very diverse. Diverse in terms of their themes and diverse in terms of the materials used; stone, steel, wood, paper, clay and bone.
Nature, the process of growth and decay, can be seen by the artists as a recurring interest, but the exhibition does not seek to find anything common.
The exhibition and the works on display invite you to wander, to lose yourself in curious details or to marvel at how ordinary materials escape an everyday meaning and evoke new images and stories.
