Garden concerts on the Red Light District: Galit Zadok & Punto Bawono (baroque music)

25 July

Dear Red Light District neighbours let's celebrate our beautiful courtyard gardens this summer with classical and folk music with quiet vibes for warm weather. Discover the beautiful and surprisingly peaceful gardens hidden in the Red Light District. Classical music concerts with summer vibes. This time we are in a garden where Sweelinck, the Netherlands' most important composer, once held sway himself. His residence provided by the municipality is no longer there but a large communal garden of many Koestraat residents still provides a place for families, entertainment and, tonight, music once more. Galit Zadok plays recorder and historical bassoon and is (co-)musical director of the early music ensembles we'N band and La Voz Humana. Punto Bawono is a lute and baroque guitarist, studied in Milan and performs as a lute accompanist and basso continuo player with various musicians and ensembles in Europe, such as ensemble Nordic Pulse, Fuse Ensemble and Nederland Blazers Ensemble. Galit & Punto are core members of La Voz Humana (est. 2018). The ensemble dedicates itself to the historically informed performance of baroque music and the research, discovery and performance of (neglected) Iberian and Latin American baroque music from the 17th and early 18th centuries. Galit & Punto lived in St Annenstraat for six years. A sultry evening of old music and new friends.
