Rembrandt temporarily back in his original home!

Museum Rembrandthuis welcomes a very special guest: a lifelike statue of Rembrandt, from the collection of Madame Tussauds Amsterdam. On the occasion of the exhibition Rembrandt's Masterclass, the iconic statue will be on display from 30 January to 25 May in the house where Rembrandt lived and worked.

For the first time, two worlds come together: the authentic site of the master and the world-renowned craftsmanship of Madame Tussauds. The statue is based on extensive historical research and numerous sources, and made with the exceptional craft for which Madame Tussauds is internationally admired. The techniques used to make the statue have hardly changed since Marie Tussaud herself applied them around 1790. Especially in Rembrandt's maker's house, where technique and craftsmanship are central, this collaboration takes on extra meaning: here, visitors literally stand eye to eye with the artist himself, in the middle of his own house. And can of course have their picture taken with him!
