If you live in the city centre, you'll know them: chairs that are neatly placed outside in the evening for bulky waste, and a day later suddenly reappear somewhere else. On a small bridge, against a wall or at the edge of a canal. There is something romantic and poetic about this sight, Jeroen and Lissa find.
As designers, they wonder: could these wanderings become the start of something new in the neighbourhood? During the Wallen Festival, you can work with Jeroen and Lissa to give a new lease of life to one of five found chairs from the city centre. In this hands-on workshop, you will work with colour, pattern, and composition on the first series of colourful Neighbourhood Chairs.
Curious about the end result? On Sunday, the Neighbourhood Chairs can be admired – and of course sat upon – during the Philosophical Concert.
